Earth’s Power

Earth’s Power

A poem by Sydney Stone. I do not own the image.

***

Have you heard the somber chorus,

Of the raindrops in the forest?

Have you heard the desperate growl,

Of the lone-wolf on the prowl?

Have you seen the skittish trails,

Left by the family of speckled quails?

Have you spied the watchful owl,

As it searches for brush-fowl?

Have you smelled the coming rains,

As the stormclouds near the plains?

Have you sniffed the wayward whiff,

Of the creosote on the cliffs?

Have you felt the mounting power,

That the Earth holds in this hour?

The earth’s power is incredible and devastating. The earth also seems to be pretty angry right now.

I take it you have an American accent?

Chorus, Forest, not intuitive for me, but let’s me read the poem in your accent.

    Nicely done!
