Greeting Dawn

Greeting Dawn

A poem by Sydney Stone. I do not own the image.

***

Red sun rising,

In the sky,

Carcass steaming,

For the flies,

Cold water rushing,

O’er the stone,

Frost receding,

On the bones,

Dawn’s light greeted,

By the fern,

Wolves come panting,

For their turn,

On the hilltop,

Stands the bear,

His nose is twitching,

For the hare,

All the world,

Greets the dawn,

The chessboard set,

For the pawn.

Thank you so much! It can be hard to get a good flow going, but when it works it’s indeed very satisfying.
