Morning’s Light

Morning’s Light

A poem by Sydney Stone. I do not own the image.

***

The first kiss of snow,

The cock’s first crow,

A gurgling creek’s flow,

Sunlight’s first glow.

A sun-kissed token,

A whispered word spoken,

Dawn has broken.

Erasing dream’s fear,

As the mists clear,

The warmth of one dear,

Sunrise is near.

The distant crash of waves in the bay,

Lazy eyes lifted from hay,

Darkness shifting to gray,

So awakens the day.
