Capitulation Compulsion

Capitulation Compulsion

A poem by Sydney Stone. I do not own the image.

***

They all claimed,

That when the Devil came,

They would fight-

And that all would remember their name.

And yet, when the sun rose up that very next day,

All that could be seen, up and down the lane,

Were sheets of white laid out-

As if to dry from a fresh-fallen rain.
