Who are we from shadows born?

Who your mantles have adorned,

Trophies garnered, nothing earned,

Pay us coinage in your turn,

We prop you up with smoke and guile,

Yet our presence raises bile,

You who ill-fate turns to sconce,

Coaxing beauty from nuance,

Just remember truths unspoken,

We took once what is your token,

And back shall we take again,

Lest conjure you from slight- amends.
